About Carol Golemme

Carol grew up in Georgia loving the great outdoors and all types of animals. Her passion was horses and she wanted to capture their beauty on paper. Before the age of 12 she had put together a booklet illustrating many of the breeds including the tackle and gear associated with them. Her childhood idle time was spent sketching all kinds of nature from butterflies to leaves. Her experience with college art classes focused mainly on history and abstract renderings.

Carol’s curiosity about life on the planet and different cultures took over as she traveled the globe. She married and put her unending energy into creative outlets for her two children.

When the children left for college, Carol took a drawing class at the South Shore Art Center and the sleeping artist within was awakened. The passion of old rekindled, a studio space was set up and a great new outlet for her energy is opening up. Her paintings reveal a new depth that draw from her life experiences.

Carol says “My goal is to hone my artistic skills for a collection of dynamic paintings that have the natural flow of life’s constant motion. I try to capture a moment on paper or canvas and still retain the feeling of activity.”

Much of her focus is on pastel landscapes that capture water and sky in motion and often a glimpse of visiting wildlife. Her themes of motion, water, sky and colorful energy are also reflected in her abstracts.

Carol adds, “I enjoy the concentration required to produce a painting. I’m lucky to be painting with some very talented artists here on the south shore. They challenge me to grow as a painter.”
